Verena Hentschel (*1984) is a german composer and artist from Cologne.
In her works she combines her abstract paintings with her electronic compositions into animated and immersive short films. The main focus in her electronic compositions is on repetitive structures in sound that is connected with the bodily experience when listening to this kind of music.
Her compositions are based on her field recordings and range between rhythmic-percussive and experimental.
She currently explores working with sound/visuals and the surrounding room (multichannel/multivideo).
Finishing Master Studies in Integrative Composition/Electronic Composition at ICEM/Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen this year. Before that Bachelor of Music in Visual Music and double bass at Institute for Music and Media/Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf.
