Verena Hentschel (*1984) is a german composer and visual artist.
A focal point in her electronic compositions is the engagement with repetition in music and sound. The basis for her compositions are field recordings, the focus lies on the experience of sound and visuals and range between rhythmic-percussive and experimental elements. She works with several speakers. Besides that she combines her abstract paintings with her compositions. Therefor she creates animations from her paintings in the computer to show them on big sized canvas or to present them as stereo videos and mixes the music for several speakers.
Finished Master Studies in Integrative Composition/Electronic Composition at ICEM/Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen 2021 and has a Bachelor’s degree in Music at IMM/Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf.
She spent several years with painting before.
