Francis St-Germain

Currently enrolled in CoPeCo, a two-year joint Masters programme in Contemporary Performance and Composition within a European setting, Francis St-Germain is a composer, saxophonist and improviser based in Montréal. He holds a Bachelor of Music in mixed composition from Université de Montréal, under the direction of Pierre Michaud, where he also studied with Ana Sokolović. Interested in long-lasting performances, he founded the company Les Concerts en Alcôve in 2016, producing in situ multidisciplinary events focused on sound, movement, chance and spatialization, with the aim of democratizing contemporary art. His projects have led him to collaborate with, among others, Quatuor Cobalt, Ensemble for New Music Tallinn, as well as with the theatre companies Tête au corps and La reine ninja. He is recipient of the Digital Originals initiative (2020) from the Canada Council for the Arts.
