David C. Gale is a composer and musician originally from Calgary and now based in Montréal. From an early age, his fascination with sound and music was cultivated by developing formative relationships to music his parents played around him, leading him to eventually take up instruments such as piano, guitars, double bass and flute, among others. As a young student of Anthropology at the University of Victoria, he heard Pauline Oliveros speak and perform, altering the course of his studies and understanding of life, music and sound. He is currently finishing a degree in Electroacoustic Studies at Concordia University, as well as working on new original works for both fixed media and performance.
