Yves Gigon is originally from Switzerland and has lived in Montreal since 1982.

After many years on tour as a drummer, he turned to electroacoustic composition and multimedia (completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Concordia University in 2001) and more recently to photography and video. His works range from interactive sound and video installation to 3D animations, multi-channel composition and video for dance.

He has also participated for several years in the development of the CEC (Canadian Electroacoustic Community) by playing a very active role in its various projects (JTTP — Young sound artists competition, eContact! — online journal, Sonus — online jukebox, CAP — online sound archive
