Tim Ward’s primary interest is in the use of computer technology in the composition and performance of music. His compositional activities centre around three areas: acousmatic music, the use of live electronics alongside acoustic instruments and computer controlled sonic installations. His performance activities concentrate on sound diffusion techniques for the performance of electroacoustic music, and the recreation of early works involving live electronics using newly available technology. Tim studied music at BA, MA levels at the University of York (UK) and worked as a lecturer at various UK universities. He was a founder member of the electroacoustic performance group Nerve8.
