Hideko Kawamoto

Hideko Kawamoto was born in Japan and started piano study at the age of nine. She studied composition with Phil Winsor and piano with Joseph Banowetz at the University of North Texas followed by post-doctoral studies at the Institut de Recherche et de Coordination Acoustique/Musicque (IRCAM) in Paris. Her international awards include Concorso Internazionale “Luigi Russolo” (1st Price, Italy), Pierre Schaeffer International Computer Music Competition (2nd Prize, Italy), Bourges International Competition of Electroacoustic & Sonic Art (Mention Award, France), Ear 01 International Electroacoustic Music Composing Electronic Music Art (composition awards, USA). She explores her sound imagination in instrumental, electronic and mixed media.
