David Mesiha first arrived in Canada from his native Egypt in september 1998 at the age of 16 to attend Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific; a UWC school that provided him a full scholarship to study international baccalaureate. After finished, David moved to Vancouver, BC to attend Simon Fraser University where eventually he settled to the studies of music and philosophy. David’s native Egyptian and Coptic heritage has always been an influence on his work, He is particularly interested in electro-acoustic composition and research in emerging music technology. Currently he [David Mesiha] is involved in research with Artificial Intelligence that aims at finding simple ways to control the highly complex controls that need to be utilized efficiently in granular synthesis.
