John G. Bilotta studied composition at the San Francisco Music & Arts Institute with Frederic Saunders. He has received awards and recognition for his vocal, chamber, orchestral, and operatic works which are regularly performed in the US, Canada and Europe. More recent works include the Divertimento for Orchestra, Gen’ei no Mai for flute and clarinet, and Shadow Tree for alto flute and guitar. His Concerto for Wind Quartet & Orchestra was premiered by the Oakland Civic Orchestra in 2005.
