Edgar Grana

Edgar David Grana is a New York-based composer. He has collaborated with such notable jazz performers as Michael Brecker, Michael Stern, Jon Faddis, and David Sanborn. His scores include “Moments, A Tribute to Jose Limon” commissioned by the Dance Division of the Juilliard School. He also provided music for the Budd Schulberg’s “On the Waterfront” which ran off-Broadway at the Theater Row Theater in New York. Mr.Grana’s “Stones, Time & Elements: a humanistic requiem” is recorded on Newport Classic with text by Kurt Vonnegut and jazz interludes by Michael Brecker.Won the 5th International Chicago Film Festival: Student Film award for direction and film score while at Film Workshop M.F.A. Program, 1969. Received a John Erskine Faculty Development Grant from the Juilliard School and from the graduate department of Computer Arts of the School of Visual Arts to launch a multi-media ballet “Leonardo Dreams”. Received a Platinum Record for work on the Winger Rock Album: “Winger”
