Christopher Gorman

Christopher Gorman is a Montréal-based composer and artist. His early experiences sliding an electric guitar borrowed from his junior high public school down the stairs in his home led to a fascination with coarse textures and abrupt sonic bursts. His love of hitting and breaking things transmogrified into several paying gigs as the drummer for a variety of music groups performing in styles that were completely foreign to him, expanding his rhythmic horizons beyond their breaking point. Many moons later, inspired beyond words by the music of some of our more abrasive contemporary sound artists, he discovered and entered the Electroacoustic Studies programme at Concordia University, where he studied composition, programming and composition. Christopher continues to create music for several reasons, chiefly because it gives his life a sense of purpose and continuous challenge.
