Fernando Alexis Franco Murillo [Fernando Alexis]

It is at Concordia University that Fernando Alexis Franco Murillo discovered a new form of expression with electroacoustic music. His music is inspired from personal experiences and human emotions like love, sadness and anger. He completed a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal under the direction of Louis Dufort. As a Canadian Council for the Arts recipient, his music has been played across Canada, United States, Chile, Portugal, Spain and South Korea. His piece Qualia was awarded the 4th at the 2014 edition of the prestigious JTTP composition contest and his composition Noche Triste was awarded the 2nd place at the Mutek’s Fill the Music Box composition contest.
