Giacomo Grassi

Residence: Martina Franca, ITALY

Giacomo Grassi was born in Grottaglie, Italy. He studied piano at the Giovanni Paisiello Musical Institute in Taranto, where he earned a BA and a MA of Music in Interpretative and Compositional Studies. In 2008–09 he taught piano in the cities and refugee camps of the Palestinian Territories. He earned a PgDip in Jazz at the Nino Rota Conservatoire in Monopoli, a PgDip in Electronic Music at the Niccolò Piccinni Conservatoire, and an MA in Philosophy at the Aldo Moro University in Bari. He wrote the electronic music for William Shakespeare’s “The Tempest”, directed by Craig Peritz at the Eutheca Theatre in Rome, and his piece “Geographies” has been selected for the concert of the First International CSound Conference at the HMTMH in Hannover.
