Residence: Manchester, UK
Hayley Suviste is currently undertaking a Master’s in Electroacoustic Composition at the University of Manchester (UK) researching the exploration of sound within space — transforming sound objects, site-specific recordings and archived sounds into immersive compositions that focus on space, place and belonging. Her work has been performed at festivals such as MA/IN (Matera Intermedia Festival), MANTIS (Manchester Theatre in Sound), BEAST FEaST (Birmingham Electroacoustic Sound Theatre), NMNW (New Music North West), EASTN-DC, MUSLAB London and MUSICA (a festival celebrating female music-making). Hayley also works and performs collaboratively around Manchester, having taken part in residencies with Brighter Sound, Modul Projects and Both Sides Now. In these projects she has worked alongside other emerging electronic musicians to create live sets that fuse electroacoustic composition, modular synthesis, laptop music and visual art that have been performed at venues across Manchester such as The White Hotel, Texture, Old Granada Studios and The People’s History Museum.
