Go Between Diana McIntosh

Go Between (for three pianists and tape/CD) (the electronic sound being panned around like a “go-between”) This evocative and provocative piece reflects the haunting atmosphere of L.P. Hartley’s novel The Go-Between — the story of an illicit and tragic love affair in Victorian England, in which an innocent young boy becomes the go-between, delivering messages between the lovers. The piece can be performed by three pianists with tape/CD, or by one pianist with a tape/CD — that includes the other two parts mixed with the electronic sound.
