Lubicon Tim J. Lawrence

“Lubicon” is inspired from the struggle of the Lubicon Cree of the Peace River District of northern Alberta who have been fighting for land since the government promised them a reservation prior to the second world war. They are one of the few tribes of native people who were not included in a treaty signing, and have been given little in exchange for their traditional hunting ground, save a few welfare cheques. Hunting is no longer possible as the wildlife has been chased away by oil exploration and development. TL
