Bandejas Guto Caminhoto

The title of this piece (bandejas = trays) comes from the main sound source used, a recording of a set of steel trays borrowed from kitchen. These trays however are never heard as such. The composition comprises three basic sections alternating strong attacking gestures and slowly moving textures. Bandejas was premiered in 1998, at the Next Wave Festival eXstatic Project (Melbourne, Australia). There are more two versions of this composition, one for two percussionists and ‘tape’ (developed in collaboration with drummer André Gimenez), and other for quadraphonic ‘tape only’.
