Petroglyph (1998)7:45
Petroglyph is built up from transformations of two brief recordings of acoustic instruments: one bowed note on a cello, and one second of drumming. The structure of the piece is based on exaggerating and then resolving the implied opposition between the sources, one traditionally melodic, the other rhythmic. Prix Residence, 1999 Bourges Electroacoustic Music Competition.
