In The Light Of The Above Arne Eigenfeldt

“In the Light of the Above” originated as a dance score, commissioned by Le Jeune Ballet International of Cannes, France, but eventually grew into an independent work. The composition derives many of its images from historic texts on the Middle Ages and the early humanist struggle against the oppression by the church. Sound sources include monastery doors, my father’s voice, and environmental sounds. The work is dedicated to my father.
