Sands Of Sirocco Arne Eigenfeldt

“Sands of Sirocco” was commissioned by Toronto’s Ballet Jorgen in 1989, and its concert version was premiered at De IJsbreaker, Amsterdam, in September 1990. The sirocco is the hot, dry wind that originates in Africa and blows over the south of Europe. In this case, the wind carries with it not only the desert sand, but also the spirit and sounds of the desert dwellers.
