Powder Drew Krause

“Powder” is concerned with the configural and kinetic possibilities of sound micro-events (“grains” of powder) and their ability to both comprise and interfere with larger composite events and gestures. The piece employs techniques of algorithmic composition, software synthesis, automated mixing, phase-vocoder effects, and non-linear/time-varying signal processing using tools such as Common Music, Csound, Snd, PowerPV, Octave, and original scripts and programs.
