Seeer John J.A. Jannone

Seeer, commissioned by choreographer Kristin Fieseler, is based on observations of people moving in public spaces in New York City and Washington, DC. The music and dance were combined only in the final rehearsals. Seeer was about half completed on September 11, 2001. It was only 2 years later that I understood some connections between Seeer and the events of 9-11: people moving in public spaces, New York and Washington, bodies in space. I still listen to it as if someone else had made it, and I hear many shadows in it that I did not knowingly cast.
