One day in a used clothing store, I found a record for one dollar entitled The Roaring Sound of Percussive Banjos. Upon listening to this presumed gem, I was wholly disappointed. That’s not to say the recording isn’t good, per se, just that it didn’t live up to the sound in my head that should represent roaring, percussive banjos. I’ve since sworn that I would recreate that sound, and this, an acousmatic interpretation, is the first attempt.
