Louvre Dante Tanzi

version for flute, piano and magnetic tape.

This is the second piece produced at LIM, Laboratorio di Informatica Musicale (Milan University), using the ”Functional Performer” experimental application conceived by G. Haus and developed by A. Stiglitz and C. Pagni on MSX, and by F. Madeddu on Macintosh. It was a real-time application which allowed playing pre-stored musical objects according with user-defined musical functions. They, in turn, were associated to the ASCII keyboard of small computers. The first version of Louvre, for flute, percussions, “Functional Performer” and two computers was performed in 1989 in Milan, (Musica nel Nostro Tempo).
