Practicing Practice, Practice Practicing Jesse Fegelman

“Practicing Practice, Practice Practicing” draws on aspects of the classical Guitar, electroacoustics, and live improvisation. Practicing acts as a common thread throughout the work, from source material to performance. The source material is solely sounds from practicing guitar. Over the course of the piece these sounds are obscured, analogous to when practicing the mind wanders from the task at hand. The live improvised laptop part provides continuity between the various levels of abstracted sound.
