Impressions on a Forgotten Landscape is an acousmatic work which nonetheless attempts to create a sense of landscape. The landscape is imaginary, unknown, forgotten. As the listener is guided through an environment of strange but resonant sounds, an impression is laid upon it. A sense of unique location is given for a personal experience, of setting in disorientation, meaning in nothingness. Voices on a blank canvas. Voice is at the heart of this piece’s technical realization, abstracted through granulation and other time-based signal processing, however retaining a sense of humanity.
