“Homecoming” is a piece based on a poem by my talented sister, Lena DeTar. Growing up, we were lucky enough to work and play with our archaeologist mother in the redrock wilderness of the American Southwest. Lena wrote the poem to express the unsettling feeling of returning to civilization after long-term immersion in the passionately harsh beauty of the canyons.
