Incident: Night Kathleen Brown

This composition involves poetic text, which has undergone erasure. I performed the text inside a Steinway piano in the Lusgar recording studio at the Banff Centre. I worked with Gordon Neil Allen, who mic’ed the piano to catch the resonance of my voice as it bounced off the strings. When we mixed the sound, Gordon amplified that resonance to give the whole piece a beautifully eerie, deep-water texture.
