Fire Inhales and Found Rhythms William Young [Bill Young]

“Fire Inhales and Found Rhythms” is composed entirely of samples derived from a field recording trip to Galiano Island BC, and at Bill’s home on Pender Island. The piece uses the sounds of air intakes on wood stoves, creaking floorboards, and forest ambience in addition to pump organ, electric guitar and voice. Because the piece was composed in Ableton Live, which as a “grid-bias”, the piece has a sense of periodicity and forward momentum.
