Hope represents a fight between light and darkness. It opposes two different types of sound materials: chaotic materials, representing darkness; and tonic, musical materials that have bright and peaceful qualities to them. The piece follows a traditional storyline, with twists and turns leading to the climax, and the fall of events to a resolution. Therefore, Hope is an electroacoustic adaptation of a cinematographic story.
