Tiva is the result of a process started two years ago, when I had tried to compose a piece using the soundtrack of René Laloux’s film La planète sauvage — it was not very convincing. This time, I set out to compose a piece inspired by the film but using only the voice of the narrator and creating my own soundtrack. The voice sometimes carries meaning and sometimes a sound material. It generates reduced listening when the voice is deconstructed or when its meaning is masked. It also serves to punctuate the work by marking certain passages with the meaning it brings, forcing the listener to create his own story. Tiva represents a new soundtrack, a reinvented soundscape which is the result of the impression left on me by the work of René Laloux.
