Arcturus Marc-Antoine Dias [Dream of Lyra]

Arcturus is a red giant star that is part of the constellation of Boötes. This piece is inspired by and is a personal and imaginary sound representation of this cosmogonic model. It was created using only a few sound materials, ranging from close-miked recordings of metallic sounds to recordings of outdoor spaces. These materials were then processed with various techniques and effects, including granulators, reverb and glitch effects. Creating a specific ambience was a very important part of the compositional process of this piece, which allows the listener to have a paradoxical experience — that of peacefully floating in space, while also being immersed in the chaos of a burning star.
